| I started my career at a London reference publisher, where I was a proofreader and assisted with indexing and abstracts. Becoming more involved in the publishing system's computer technology, I spent several years in computer and network support, where I gained knowledge of many technical subject areas. While managing a support team, I created computer training manuals for staff at a London museum. I also created the museum's first web site in 1993. I next took a job as a technical author for an accounting software house, where I was part of the team responsible for creating online help as well as traditional software manuals. Using my computer support background, I also became involved in the page layout process. While taking time out to have my children, I worked part time as a freelance web designer. During and after my first pregnancy, I became well known for my work in the field of hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe pregnancy complication. I am still researching the subject and have started to write a novel based on the condition. I am knowledgeable in many areas of pregnancy, childbirth and early post-partum health. Emigrating to South Africa with my family in 2004, I continued my freelance web design and offered my services as a freelance journalist to the local newspapers. I quickly built up a good reputation and found a ready market for my proofreading, writing and editing skills among the business sector. I have also improved my photography and print design skills over the past few years in order to fill gaps in the local market. Recent web work:
